A Claude Skill Is
14 Lines Of Text.
Not software. Not a plugin. A folder with one plain-English file in it, that Claude finds and runs on its own. Learn to write that file and you can build whatever your work actually needs.
Here Is A Finished Skill.
All Of It.
No dashboard screenshots, because there isn’t a dashboard. This file, saved in a folder, is a working Claude Skill. The course is mostly about writing the line in orange.
---name: notes-to-actionsdescription: Turn rough notes into an action list with owners and due dates. Use when the user shares meeting notes or asks for next steps.--- # Notes to Actions ## Instructions1. Pull out every decision, task and open question.2. Give each task an owner and a due date if implied.3. Group by owner. Keep it tight, no preamble. ## ExampleInput: messy notes. Output: a checklist with owners and dates.
Seven Modules.
Seven Things You Actually Do.
Every module ends in one task. About two hours end to end, split across as many sittings as you like and you finish with a skill you built, deployed, debugged and named, not notes about skills.
What a skill is
Skill vs prompt vs Project vs MCP. The folder, the frontmatter, and why fifty skills cost you almost nothing.
Build your first one
The four-step loop, and a complete working SKILL.md to copy and swap. Fifteen minutes.
The 10 starter skills
Editable templates, plus the three-step remix that turns someone else’s skill into yours.
Patterns that scale
Instructions vs reference files vs scripts, matching freedom to the task, and the 500-line rule.
Ship it
Claude Code, claude.ai and the API. What each one needs, and the sync gotcha that catches everyone once.
When it won’t fire
Nine times out of ten it’s the description. The weak version, the strong version, and the fix.
Your library
Naming that survives fifty skills, the portability test, and composition several skills on one request.
Bonus: The Vault
All 10 starter skills as editable templates, the copy-paste skeleton, and one finished skill built end to end.
Ten Skills,
Ready To Steal.
Editable folders, not a locked download. Install one, run it on something real, change a line. That’s remixing, and it’s how every skill in your library will start.
- A copy-paste SKILL.md skeleton you fill in during Module 2
- One finished skill built end to end, so you see the target before you aim
- A map of 1,000+ free open-source skills to read and remix

They All Said The Same Thing.
Twelve people who already took the course, in their own words. Almost every one of them describes the same before: rebuilding the same prompts, over and over.
I stopped rebuilding the same prompts for every client.
I use Claude throughout my course creation process, but I kept repeating the same instructions. Learning Skills gave me a much simpler way to reuse workflows for research, lessons, worksheets, and content.
I’m spending far less time managing prompts.
I now know how to turn repetitive business workflows into Claude Skills I can reuse anytime.
I was using separate prompts for hooks, ideas, calendars, and repurposing. This course showed me how to turn those recurring tasks into reusable Claude Skills instead of starting from scratch every time.
Claude finally feels scalable across my agency.
My copywriting process has a lot of repeatable steps, from research to editing. This course helped me turn those steps into Claude Skills so I don’t have to explain the same workflow in every new chat.
I can finally build Claude around my own coaching frameworks instead of relying on generic prompts.
I turned repetitive founder work into reusable Claude workflows.
The most useful part was learning how to turn a repeatable marketing framework into something Claude can actually follow. It gives me a much cleaner way to use my own methods consistently.
I can reuse my research, writing, and editing process without rebuilding the same prompts every week.
I now know how to turn my frameworks into Claude Skills that follow the same process every time.
Before You Start Module 1
No. You saw the whole file above that’s plain English in a text file. You copy a skeleton, swap in your own task, and save it. Scripts are an optional advanced piece that most of your skills will never need.
Claude, and somewhere to put a folder. Skills run in Claude Code, in claude.ai on Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise with code execution turned on, or through the Claude API. Module 5 covers all three, including the gotcha that a skill uploaded to one surface doesn’t appear on the others.
Opposite direction. Claude Superpowers is 20 finished skills you install and use on day one. This teaches you to build your own, so the skill nobody has made yet stops being a problem. They stack well the pack becomes your reference library, and the course is how you bend those skills into your own workflow.
Yes, and the course points you straight at it Anthropic’s own docs, the open-source repos, over a thousand free skills to read and remix. What you’re paying for is the order: seven modules that build on each other, one task per module, and the specific mistakes that stop a skill from ever firing. You can assemble this yourself from a dozen tabs. This is the shortcut.
Agent Skills became an open standard in December 2025, so the same folder runs in Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot and thirty-plus other agents. Portability isn’t automatic though, it’s a writing style, and Module 7 covers how to write one that travels, plus a test to prove it does.

The Skill You Need Doesn’t Exist Yet.
